Take inspiration from another song. Find a seed song that makes you feel something you’d like to capture in your own song. Listen to the seed song until you can pull out some of the elements that create the feeling—musical elements, lyrics, instrumental hooks, pacing of the lyrics, kinds of chords. Borrow a couple of those elements to write your own song.
